Porto executive Andoni Zubizarreta spoke to Sky Sport about the draw with Roma in the Europa League playoffs.
Shortly after the draw in Nyon, Zubizarreta said, “Roma is a great team, as is Porto. This is a match-up that could easily be played in the Champions League.”
“I can’t wait to meet my great friend and former coach Claudio Ranieri again,” he added.
“The chances are 50/50. Both teams have great technical quality, but they come into this match after a change on the bench. Obviously, I hope Porto goes ahead.”
In his interview with Sport TV, Zubizarreta went more in depth about his friendship with Ranieri.
“He was my last coach at Valencia, I hope he continues with this passion on the bench. I will give him a hug even we both want to win, it’s football.”
