Gian Piero Gasperini’s recent comments about the possibility of coaching Roma have put him in the lead to become Ranieri’s successor in the capital.

The Atalanta boss is in fact the number one candidate for the job, writes Il Tempo, although Roma have not yet committed to him.

The Giallorossi are still evaluating other names in the mix including those of Farioli, Montella and Conte.

However, Gasperini is by far the favorite on Roma’s shortlist.

Ghisolfi and Ranieri have explored the availability of the Atalanta boss among the various names taken into consideration to restart with a new project.
