Maurizio Sarri’s return to Lazio coincided with Gian Piero Gasperini’s decision to become Roma’s new head coach.
During an event in Pescara, Sarri was interviewed by Tuttomercatoweb.
The Tuscan manager was asked about the prospect of facing Gasperini in the Derby della Capitale next season.
“I respect him a lot,” said Sarri of Gasperini. “Because he created a distinct football model and he is a coach that I like.”
“It will be a nice derby between people who know and appreciate each other.”
