In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Roberto De Zerbi, current Marseille manager, discussed Serie A and the current balance of form at the top of the table.
Among other topics, the former Brighton manager expressed great respect for Gian Piero Gasperini, now at the helm of Roma.
“I’m happy for Gasperini,” he said, “who paid for something he wasn’t responsible for at Inter. I’m rooting for him a little, because they labeled him as someone who couldn’t sit on a top bench. Yet he can play anywhere.”
De Zerbi then commented on the Scudetto race, emphasizing the level of competitiveness shown by the league’s top teams: “Napoli are more than alive, Inter are perhaps still the strongest, and Milan are playing well. It’s great to see such competitiveness.”
