Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the media in the aftermath of his team’s 1-0 win over Roma.
The Italian head coach said, “Roma deserved the lead, but we made every mistake we could at the start.”
“Roma applied a lot of pressure, and we needed to bring Bartesaghi and De Winter down, but we couldn’t. With the lead, we positioned ourselves better, and in the second half, we came forward better. With a back four, we were more organized.”
“We had a complicated approach at the start. We usually made mistakes in the second half, but with our four midfielders, we were able to close down the midfielders. We need to improve our self-esteem and confidence.”
“Playing at San Siro isn’t easy; we had several absences and we played with inexperienced players. Despite everything, they did well.”
