In a surprise appearance on Ukrainian TV, Artem Dovbyk spoke about his injury and revealed how his recovery is progressing.
“I’m recovering,” said the Roma player. “The injury is muscular and it’s bothersome because it’s close to the tendons,” he explained.
“I’ll be back in another month,” he added.
The injury suffered against Udinese on November 9th prevented him from participating in Ukraine’s final two World Cup qualifying matches.
“I would have liked to help my teammates on the national team,” he added, “but I was pretty sure they’d win.”
Ukraine, like Italy, will participate in the playoffs. The draw will be held on Thursday, and the Azzurri could face them in the final.
