Manu Koné’s future is stirring up the French transfer market, but for now the midfielder seems to have clear ideas.

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly already identified the Roma player as the perfect midfield reinforcement, as indicated by Luis Enrique. And that’s not all.

Surprisingly, Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille has also entered the race, having abandoned the pursuit of Kanté, who is currently in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.

Financial possibilities, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport, mark a clear difference between the two contenders: PSG has the resources to make a move in the coming months, while such a move would be difficult for Marseille to sustain.

The real variable, however, remains the player’s desire.

Neither of these two destinations appeals to the French midfielder. Koné has reportedly chosen to stay in Rome at least until the end of the season.

Considered a cornerstone of the Giallorossi, the midfielder is confident in the project and his role in the title race. “I feel very good at Roma. We’re top of the table and I’m part of a great team. I hope we can finish the year well,” he said recently from the national team training camp.

The long-term future remains uncertain and will inevitably be influenced by the team’s results, especially whether they qualify for the next Champions League, which Trigoria has now been without for seven long seasons.

Until then, however, Koné remains focused on the present and the dream of winning a trophy with the Giallorossi.
