Roma’s Niccolò Pisilli is set to be one of the hottest names in the January transfer window.

The limited space he’s found so far in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad could push the midfielder toward a loan move, with the goal of finding more consistency in Serie A.

Interest in the youngster is extremely high.

As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Fabio Grosso’s Sassuolo, who are looking to strengthen their midfield, have also joined the race to secure Pisilli.

The Neroverdi, however, will face competition from Parma and, above all, Genoa, led by Daniele De Rossi, a manager who knows the player well, having had him in the first team during his time in the capital.

Despite the pressure from the outside and the youngster’s desire to play more, Roma appears to have a clear plan: the club won’t let go of Pisilli without first finding a new addition to the same position.

The Giallorossi midfield is built around key players Cristante and Koné, with El Aynaoui ready to give both players a rest.

However, the Moroccan’s imminent departure for the Africa Cup of Nations is a crucial factor. El Aynaoui’s absence will open up more maneuverability in midfield, offering Pisilli the opportunity to convince Gasperini with the playing time he’s so far lacked.
