An interesting transfer background story has emerged regarding the Roma striker, focusing on the past few weeks and the negotiations involving Niclas Füllkrug.
As reported by Il Messaggero, Roma sporting director Frederic Massara had virtually blocked the German striker from West Ham, but he subsequently chose to move to AC Milan, a move that surprised more than a few.
Despite the agreement in principle, Füllkrug has never fully convinced current Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who rejected the move.
Gasperini, in fact, continues to firmly focus on Joshua Zirkzee as a primary target to strengthen Roma’s attack.
The Dutch striker is seen as the ideal fit for the Giallorossi’s attack, and Roma has already reached an agreement with the player, but the deal is still being finalized.
