Artem Dovbyk successfully underwent surgery today in Finland.

The decision to operate came after post-Lecce checks revealed a much more serious injury to his left thigh tendon than initially thought. “See you soon,” the striker wrote on Instagram in a post-operation photo.

Returning against Genoa after a two-month layoff, Dovbyk had found the net in Lecce, just minutes before the new injury.

He now faces approximately three months of rehabilitation.

“Injuries are part of the game. Focused on recovery and coming back stronger than ever. Thank you for all the support, it really means a lot,” Dovbyk added on his Instagram post.

If the schedule is respected, the Ukrainian could be available for the match against Inter on April 4th, aiming to be ready for the potential Europa League quarterfinals.
