Mario Hermoso has become a key figure in Gasperini’s Giallorossi defense.
With 17 appearances and one goal in Serie A, plus five appearances in the Europa League, the Spaniard has established himself as a cornerstone of the defense.
Attention now turns to his contract, which expires in June 2026.
Matteo Moretto revealed the situation on YouTube: Roma has a unilateral option for a one-year extension (+1), to be exercised by the end of April or early May, and the feeling is that it will be activated.
Furthermore, the parties have begun discussions to take the deal further.
The goal would be to convert the one-year contract into a two-year one, extending the agreement until 2028 while simultaneously reviewing the figures and financial terms.
Negotiations are underway to confirm the center-back’s presence at the Giallorossi.
