Roma could soon bid farewell to Manu Koné, with a transfer likely to materialize next summer, primarily for budgetary and Financial Fair Play reasons.

The prospect of his sale is a real one, and the Giallorossi knows they must raise funds by June 30th.

In that case, however, Manu’s departure could be less painful for fans if Sassuolo’s Ismael Koné, born in 2002, were to replace him.

In the previous summer transfer window, Inter had already made an offer for Manu Koné, but the move never materialized, partly due to opposition from Claudio Ranieri, who did not want to part with the French midfielder.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the situation could arise again, especially if the Nerazzurri were to raise the stakes with an offer exceeding €40 million, perhaps even close to €50 million, a figure that could convince Sassuolo to sell the player.

For Ismael Koné, however, Sassuolo is asking around €30 million. In this scenario, Roma could seize the opportunity to cash in and replace the French international midfielder with the young Canadian, which would ease the disappointment of his namesake’s departure.

Precisely because of the FFP, a big-name player is expected to leave in the next transfer window: one of Svilar, Ndicka, Wesley, or Koné could pack their bags and leave the capital.
