Paulo Dybala has been sidelined for several weeks now, and his return is still a long way off.

La Joya is currently trying to speed up his recovery and return by the end of April, to be available for the final games of the season.

These games could be his last in the Giallorossi jersey.

The club had long put negotiations on a renewal on hold to stall, but after a new injury followed by meniscus surgery, it appears they’ve made a final decision.

Barring any unexpected developments, La Joya will say goodbye to the Giallorossi in June, likely returning to Argentina to play for Boca Juniors.

Roma are already looking at a possible replacement, who could arrive from Spain.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, the Giallorossi have begun tracking Sergio Arribas, a 2001-born player from Almeria who trained at Real Madrid.

The Spanish attacking midfielder has impressed in La Liga 2 with 20 goals and 7 assists.

But Dybala’s situation could change again. Indeed, Gasperini would like to keep the Argentine for at least another year. Thanks to the coach’s push, a glimmer of hope could open up between the parties to sit down at the negotiating table.
