It’s not just Dybala. There’s a Roma with Wesley and a Roma without Wesley.

The Brazilian is the jewel in the crown of the summer transfer market, strongly desired by Gasperini, and when he’s not on the pitch, his absence is clearly noticeable.

With him, the team averages significantly higher points than in games where he’s absent, where performances drop significantly.

His contribution isn’t just in terms of goals, but also in attacking development, with a tangible impact on expected goals and chances created.

With four goals, he’s the Giallorossi’s third-highest scorer this season, behind only Malen and Soulé.

Currently injured, Wesley’s recovery has become a top priority for Gasperini, especially at a crucial moment of the season. Initially, a longer layoff was considered, with a possible return against Bologna, but recent progress suggests a quicker recovery.

According to Il Messaggero, the Brazilian could be back in the squad for the match against Pisa, before being fully available for the following match against Atalanta.

Meanwhile, Dybala’s return to the squad is also close, and he is expected to be back with the team next week.
