Roma are once again closely monitoring Leonardo Balerdi’s situation.

According to French portal Footmercato, the Argentine defender and Marseille have mutually agreed to end their relationship at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old former Borussia Dortmund center back is a prospect the Giallorossi management has been pursuing for some time to strengthen their defense.

Balerdi has made 21 competitive appearances in Ligue 1 this season, hampered by muscle problems that have affected his performance and consistency.

Despite the criticism and his continued monitoring of his fitness, interest from international clubs remains high, with Marseille valuing him at around €20 million.

However, this figure could fluctuate after the World Cup, representing an unknown factor for Roma despite his contract expiring in 2028.
