Roma is breathing a sigh of relief ahead of their Monday, May 4, match against Fiorentina.

Zeki Celik, forced to leave the pitch at the Dall’Ara during the second half of the match against Bologna, underwent tests today to assess the severity of the discomfort he felt in his right thigh flexor.

Although there was talk of a “precautionary” substitution, definitive confirmation came from today’s medical tests.

According to Filippo Biafora, the tests ruled out any muscle injuries.

This is important news for Gian Piero Gasperini, who feared having to do without the Turkish international at such a critical stage of the season.

Ahead of the match against Fiorentina, the team will return to training tomorrow: the coach has granted the players a 48-hour rest, and they will resume training at Trigoria on Tuesday.

As for Celik, he should be called up for Monday’s match, but his long-term prospects in the Giallorossi jersey don’t seem to be changing. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the Turk’s stay in the capital appears difficult.
