The season is almost over, and teams are already planning for next season, initiating initial discussions to strengthen their respective squads for next season.

The summer transfer window is about to begin, with Roma first having to sell some players to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, before being able to strengthen their squads for Gian Piero Gasperini.

The news had already come out a few weeks ago and is reiterated today in today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport: Roma are interested in Remo Freuler (34), whose midfielder whose contract with the Emilian club is expiring and well known to Gasperini, with whom he spent six seasons at Atalanta.

The Roman sports daily writes that contacts have already been initiated and the player has opened up to the possibility of returning to work with the Piedmontese coach.

There is no rush to make the move, also because Freuler is now focused on finishing the season well with Bologna, but if the Capitoline club were to insist, it would lead to an agreement.

Freuler would obviously represent a move to strengthen the squad immediately within that mix of youth and experience, repeatedly relaunched by Gasperini to build a sustainable Roma, yes, but immediately competitive.
