Claudio Ranieri was dismissed from Roma on April 24th with a harsh statement.
The former Friedkin consultant distanced himself from Gasperini before the match against Pisa, and the club, in turn, responded a few days later: “AS Roma announces that its relationship with Claudio Ranieri has ended.”
Ranieri is now free and spoke to Sky Sport about a possible national team role: “I said no because I was busy with Roma and couldn’t have two jobs. Now I’m free, why not? Never say never.”
Ranieri has opened his eyes to the national team. Italy, which he rejected when he became a consultant for the Friedkins, is now a professional opportunity for Sir Claudio.
Speaking to Sky Sport, the former senior advisor to Roma added: “Executive or coach? If you get called, you have to say yes and that’s it. We need to get back on our feet; we can’t stay so far away from major events.”
