Still distance between Roma and Celik’s agent

Gian Piero Gasperini has outlined the path for the Friedkins ahead of next season.

There will be no dismantling of the squad; on the contrary, there will be an attempt to complete the contract renewals of Pellegrini, Dybala, and Celik, while adding targeted players who can raise the team’s level, as Wesley and Malen have done.

For the Grugliasco-born coach, the wingers who orbit the flanks are of considerable importance.

From the growth of Conti and Gosens at Atalanta to Wesley’s explosion at Roma, many players are valued.

Gasperini would also like to keep Celik in the squad, whose contract expires in June and who is preparing to play in the World Cup with Montella’s Turkey. The future of the former Lille full-back, however, remains in doubt.

Celik’s future remains unclear, with many uncertainties.

As Corriere dello Sport reports, the Turkish full-back’s contract expires on June 30, but there’s still no agreement with the Giallorossi regarding a possible extension.

There’s a paradox: the former Lille player could start the World Cup against Turkey as a Roma player but could finish it as a free agent.

The Roman club has made an offer to the player’s agent, but the financial gap remains significant.

Celik’s entourage is pushing for demands deemed too high by the Giallorossi, which must protect the balance within the dressing room. Negotiations are continuing, as Gasperini doesn’t want to lose the player.
