Francesco Totti and Roma are impossible to separate.

The Captain’s future, in fact, appears to still be with the Giallorossi, though it’s yet to be determined in what role.

The former number 10 is waiting to hear the Friedkins’ intentions, but it’s only a matter of days, as the new sporting director, Tony D’Amico, will soon be announced.

Gian Piero Gasperini is in favor of Totti’s return to the club: he would like a managerial role, given his footballing prowess and the internal dynamics between the team and the club.

Totti is set to return to Roma. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a key meeting could take place this week at Trigoria to formalize the agreement with the Giallorossi.

After Ed Shipley’s initial offer (a two-year contract worth €500,000-€600,000 to act as ambassador), the Friedkins could return with a €1 million offer and a broader, more prestigious role.

Gasperini hopes Totti can act as a bridge between players and the club in day-to-day management, offering opinions, scouting talents across Europe, and collaborating with him in recovering struggling players or identifying, when necessary, what’s needed for development. In short, a central, not a marginal, figure.
