Strengthening the flanks.

This will be one of Tony D’Amico’s objectives during his summer in Rome.

Among the players the Giallorossi are pursuing is Rafael Obrador, a left-back who played for Torino last season.

The situation on the flanks could undergo several changes in the coming weeks.

With Kostas Tsimikas returning to Liverpool and Angeliño and Devyne Rensch potentially leaving the capital, the Giallorossi are looking for a reliable winger capable of occupying the left flank.

This need would become even more pressing if Gian Piero Gasperini decided to bring Wesley back to the right flank.

The latest development concerns Obrador’s future.

According to Portuguese newspaper ‘O Jogo’, Torino has decided not to exercise the €9 million option to buy.

The 2004-born player, who arrived in Piedmont on loan last January, will therefore return to Benfica at the end of his time with the club.

Should Roma decide to make the move, they will have to negotiate directly with the Portuguese club.

According to Transfermarkt estimates, the player’s market value is around €5 million, although Benfica could ask for a higher fee to release one of their most promising young players.
