Roma are planning a mini-revolution in attack. Gasperini has only one certainty at center forward: Donyell Malen, who has scored 14 goals in 18 Serie A matches.
The other two players behind the Dutchman, Artem Dovbyk and Robinio Vaz, are not convincing the Grugliasco-born coach.
The myotendinous injury to his left thigh has hampered the former Girona player and complicates Roma’s transfer plans, as it will be difficult to find a buyer who can guarantee the Giallorossi won’t suffer a capital loss.
Currently, the player weighs around €25 million on the club’s balance sheet.
Roma is considering finding a new home for Artem Dovbyk. The Ukrainian striker isn’t part of Gasperini’s plans, as he needs another striker who can play alongside Malen.
As Corriere della Sera reports, the Giallorossi attempted a swap deal with Gianluca Scamacca, but Atalanta rejected the offer.
Roma, however, has two options: either try to swap the player, as they attempted last summer with Gimenez, or loan him out, hoping for a future revaluation.
