Bad news for Wesley just days before the start of the World Cup, scheduled for June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Brazilian winger was injured during a friendly against Egypt.

The 2003-born player was forced off the pitch after just 17 minutes. Now Wesley risks missing his World Cup campaign, which features Brazil among the favorites to reach the finals.

The Brazilian federation is urging caution regarding Wesley’s condition.

As Diogo Dantas reports, although the 2003-born player’s medical results are pending, there’s an initial feeling among the player’s entourage: he won’t need to be ruled out of the World Cup.

The injury, in fact, is expected to keep the Roma full-back out of the debut against Morocco (June 13), but he should recover in 10-15 days. It doesn’t appear to be a serious problem for Wesley.
