While awaiting the official announcement of Tony D’Amico as Roma’s new sporting director, the transfer market is moving.

The Giallorossi are monitoring several full-backs to raise their game, with Wesley able to play on both flanks.

Atletico Madrid’s Matteo Ruggeri, whom Gasperini knows well from his time in Bergamo, continues to gain ground.

The deal is expensive (around €25 million), but Roma’s interest is solid.

The Giallorossi are looking elsewhere, as the Dodo option is cooling off.

The Brazilian Fiorentina full-back, as reported by Corriere dello Sport, appears to prefer Napoli to the Roman club. However, there are plenty of alternatives.

In addition to Ruggeri and Dodo, who appears to prefer Napoli, the Roman club has its eye on Zappacosta and Bernasconi, both of whom are at Atalanta. The first on the list, formerly of Roma, would be happy to work with Gasperini again.

Catanzaro’s Favasuli is also in the running, a less flashy move. It will be up to D’Amico to align the club’s and the manager’s priorities and then work to satisfy both parties.
