The World Cup, as always, is highlighting several players who could be in Roma’s sights, as the club is searching for strikers.

Against the Netherlands, where Malen, the striker who led the Giallorossi to the Champions League, attracted attention with his performance in the 57th minute (2-2).

Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, during the “Caffé Di Marzio” podcast, discussed the compatibility of the Reims winger with Gasperini’s style of play.

“Many other names will surely emerge at the World Cup in the coming days. Yesterday, for example, I really liked the Japanese player Nakamura for those who need to play with wingers, either in a 4-4-2 or with a fast, strong winger who comes back towards the pitch in a 4-3-3. He’s perhaps an ideal player for Gasperini’s style of play, as he’s looking for wingers of this type, so perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised if Nakamura also makes it onto a potential list of wingers for Roma.”

Di Marzio also addressed Roma’s interest in Summerville, Malen’s national teammate: “Among other things, he also played in the Netherlands-Japan match, so on the other hand, Summerville did very well. He’s a player Gasperini himself had already tried to sign in January, and perhaps he’ll try again this transfer window.”

Gasperini’s dream is Greenwood, but the West Ham winger remains in the sights of the Giallorossi, who want to bring two starting strikers to their manager.
