Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to DAZN shortly before kickoff for Napoli vs. Roma.
The Giallorossi coach surprised everyone by launching Devyne Rensch on the wing from the start, and behind Donyell Malen and Matias Soulé, he fielded Bryan Cristante, who had returned from injury.
What kind of match should we expect? “A high-level one. Lots of key players on the pitch, it’s two of the best teams in the league.”
How important is Cristante? “Important because we’ve often used the same players in his department. He’s a top-level player, very versatile. He can play both against the deep end and allow someone else to push forward. We can have more tactical options with him.”
Will Napoli-Roma shape the season? “Winning in Naples would be a step towards a special kind of awareness. From that perspective, it would undoubtedly be a great boost, but the season is still long.”
