Roma is already looking ahead to the January transfer window, and Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly identified midfield as one of the areas in need of strengthening.

In addition to the need for attacking changes, the Giallorossi coach expects a new addition to the midfield, especially after Lorenzo Pellegrini’s injury, which will sideline him for at least a couple of months.

This situation could push the club’s management to accelerate their evaluation of potential targets for the upcoming winter transfer window.

According to a report by the German portal fussball-news.de, among the players being pursued by Roma is Gabriel Sara, a Brazilian midfielder born in 1999 and currently playing for Galatasaray.

His name is nothing new to the Roman club, which had already expressed interest in him a couple of years ago.

The player is reportedly back in the Giallorossi’s sights, although international competition could complicate any potential negotiations.

Roma aren’t the only Italian club interested in the Brazilian midfielder. Napoli have also reportedly added Gabriel Sara to their watchlist, raising the possibility of a transfer window discussion between the two Serie A clubs.

Interest in the Galatasaray player also extends to the Premier League. In particular, Newcastle and Everton are reportedly willing to offer around €30 million to secure the services of the 1999-born player. This significant sum could complicate Roma’s plans, as they must compete with the financial resources of the English clubs.

Gasperini is expecting reinforcements in January, and Gabriel Sara remains one of the names to monitor, while sporting director Tony D’Amico will have to evaluate the financial feasibility of a potential deal.
