Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma are preparing to return to the Champions League after their convincing win at Udinese.
On Tuesday evening, the Giallorossi will play Manchester United at Old Trafford, in a crucial match for their European campaign.
To best prepare for the match, the coaching staff and the club have developed a special program, designed to limit travel and promote recovery.
As reported by Il Tempo, Roma has decided not to return to the capital after the Udine trip, preferring to continue directly to England.
The team spent the night in Friuli and will have a recovery session at Udinese’s training center this morning. In the afternoon, they will travel by bus to Trieste, from where the Giallorossi delegation will depart for Manchester.
The decision by Gasperini and his staff creates a sort of mini-retreat ahead of the European fixture, with the aim of optimizing time and ensuring the players are adequately prepared.
Once they reach Manchester, Roma will follow their usual pre-match schedule. The coach, accompanied by a player, will hold a press conference around 6:20 PM, while the team will take to the field immediately afterwards for a final training session.
The situation regarding Paulo Dybala, however, remains to be monitored, as his participation against Manchester United appears highly doubtful. Gasperini still hopes to have the Argentine recover, but unless positive developments occur in the coming hours, the striker will be forced to miss Tuesday’s match. The Giallorossi staff will continue to evaluate his condition, while Roma prepares for another international test following their comfortable league victory against Udinese.
