Diawara’s agent responds to Fonseca

The agent of Roma midfielder Amadou Diwara, Daniele Piraino, caused a stir earlier this week when he stated that he wanted “clarity” from the club on the importance and role of his client to the Giallorossi’s project.

Today, Roma manager Paulo Fonseca was asked about Piraino’s statement in his pre-match press conference and admitted he wasn’t pleased with what he read.

“If the agent thinks this is the right way to make some sort of an impression and to pressure me, he’s gotten it wrong,” he said.

“I must say that Diawara was very important for the team, he still is and he is working very well”.

Piraino responded to the Portuguese manager’s statements today during an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, where he dismissed the idea that he was trying to influence the manager’s choices.

“I’ve never aimed to influence what the manager decides,” said the Guinean’s agent.

“I’m sorry he misinterpreted the meaning behind my statements. I’m a lawyer and an agent — I limit myself to protecting the interests of my client”.
