After three years, Steven Nzonzi and Roma are parting ways once and for all.
The French midfielder has been officially announced as Al Rayyan’s newest signing, joining the club on a multi-year deal from the Giallorossi.
The 32 year-old leaves the Italian capital on a free transfer after costing Roma €27 million in the summer of 2018, when he joined from Sevilla.
He amassed only 39 total appearances for Roma, all of which came in the 2018/2019 season, before going out on loan with Galatasaray then Rennes.
His departure provides the Italian’s wage bill with significant relief due to his massive €5.1 million in gross wages per season.
