The coach of the Italian national team and former Lazio player Roberto Mancini commented on Zaniolo’s exclusion from the call-up list for Italy’s upcoming fixtures in the Nations League.
When asked what led to his decision to not call up the 22-year-old, the Italian coach said:
“Zaniolo didn’t pay for the gesture in the derby even though I think he has to pay attention to certain things.”
He added:
“The choice was only a technical one, he is young and will be important for our national team.”
