Jose Mourinho loses another precious piece to the puzzle. Namely, the Special One will have to do without Chris Smalling for the upcoming weekend fixture vs Cagliari.
As reported by Il Tempo, the English defender will be unavailable for the away match against Cagliari. With Roger Ibañez also out with a suspension, Mourinho will have to rely on the duo Mancini-Kumbulla.
Smalling’s status remains questionable for the Coppa Italia game vs Lecce scheduled for next week, but it is highly unlikely that the Englishman will recover in time.
On the other hand, Sergio Oliveira is ready for his first start, replacing Bryan Cristante – also out for suspension – alongside Jordan Veretout.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is expected to get his second consecutive start in Karsdorp’s absence.
