Roma’s second leg against Vitesse is about to kick-off in tonight’s midweek Conference League fixture. Defender Chris Smalling talked to Sky Sport about the team’s need to focus on the task at hand rather than the upcoming Derby della Capitale.
“Today we’re in our house, on our pitch and in front of all of our fans supporting us. There are no excuses tonight.”
The English centre-back said, “We have to be focused from the start, even if we’re 1-0 we must stay sharp at all times.”
“Sure, there may be the derby in the back of our minds, but the focus tonight is strictly on Vitesse.”
