José Mourinho looked very emotional after Roma beat Leicester 1-0 at the Olimpico to advance to the Conference League final.
In his post-match press conference Mourinho addressed the tears on his face that were caught on camera.
“I am moved tonight. Winning helps you win more, trophies are all the same but they’re a way of paying back all the hard work,” said the Special One.
“But here… when it comes to a team that never wins anything but is always supported by the fans…” he continued.
“As I said before, I’m at a stage of my career where I don’t do it for myself, but for my players, for my owners who have just arrived in football, for the fans.”
He concluded, “I’m excited about the emotions of others.”
