Mile Svilar has officially joined the Giallorossi on a five-year contract, with the capital club making the following announcement on their official website:

The club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

Svilar, 22, has signed a five-year contract with the club that runs until 30 June 2027.

“I am delighted to be here and I cannot wait to get started,” Svilar said.

“When I heard about Roma’s interest I was immediately excited.

“Working with a coach like Jose Mourinho is unbelievable and I am ready to do everything I can to help the team.”

Svilar, a full Serbia international, is the youngest goalkeeper ever to start a Champions League match.

He spent the last five years at Portuguese club Benfica, after beginning his career with Belgian side Anderlecht.

“Mile is a young player with a great future ahead of him; he has great potential and a strong work ethic,” said Tiago Pinto, the club’s General Manager.

“With his signing we are not just focused on improving our prospects in the short-term, but also building the best possible foundations for the future of the club too.”

Svilar has chosen the No. 99 shirt with the Giallorossi.

Welcome to the club, Mile!
