Roma continue their search for an additional defender in order to further strengthen Jose Mourinho’s backline for the new season underway.
Now, the club seem to have identified free agent Nikola Maksimovic as their preferred option after earlier rumours linked other names including those of Dan-Axel Zagadou and Jason Denayer.
According to Italian Journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Giallorossi are in contact with Maksimovic and the negotiations are progressing on a positive note.
The club could soon land the ex-Napoli centre-back who recently concluded his brief stint at Genoa, effectively becoming a free agent in June.
