Tammy Abraham after scoring in win over Empoli: “It was a team effort.”

Andy Mattioli

Roma overcome a lowly Empoli side in a thrilling 2-1 victory away from home in Monday night’s Serie A engagement. Tammy Abraham – tonight’s protagonist along with Paulo Dybala – was interviewed by Sky Sport following the final whistle.

“We knew going in that it was going to be difficult,” said the Englishman after scoring the winner for the Giallorossi. “Especially after having lost two games in a row. It was that much more important to win tonight”

“Tonight everybody on the team showed up. Paulo and I scored, but it was a team effort and it’s important to have these performances as a team.”

“I feel good now. I have just recovered from an injury, and I’m happy.”
