As Fiorentina battle for Conference League glory, their defender, Nikola Milenkovic, reiterated the importance of the third UEFA competition in an interview with Informer. In the interview, Milenkovic stated how Roma winning the first edition is an additional motivation in Viola’s own pursuit of European silverware.
“Our objective remains the same: doing better than last season which means entering among the top six in Serie A,” said the 24-year-old centre-back.
“The Conference League is important for us,” he continued. “Many initially underestimated this third tier UEFA competition, then we all saw how much the trophy meant to José Mourinho last season.”
“You can also see this season how much that European success meant to Roma supporters as there was a lot of enthusiasm in and around their stadium.”
