Ciro Immobile’s perseverance to make himself available to Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri for the upcoming Derby della Capitale did not pay off in the end.
The Italian striker – who suffered an injury to his calf a few weeks ago in a scoreless draw with Udinese – has been ruled out for Sunday’s derby with Roma after undergoing a medical check-up earlier on on Monday, reports Il Tempo.
The swelling in Immobile’s leg is still too significant and will, as a result, further delay the attacker’s return to the pitch.
