Following a 1-3 loss to Salernitana, Lazio have been furious with AIA – the Italian referee association – and the Lega Serie A as a result of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s yellow card which will prompt the Serbian midfielder to miss the upcoming Derby della Capitale with Roma.
As reported by today’s edition of La Repubblica, Lazio’s management – led by club president Claudio Lotito – have met with AIA representatives to express their disappointment and anger over what they considered to be “unfair” refereeing.
Lotito held talks with AIA and Lega Serie A executives in order to get referee Gianluca Manganiello suspended. Manganiello, however, has already been reassured of his next Serie A engagements and will not face any repercussions following Sunday night’s display.
