Roma had reportedly completed a deal for Ajax midfielder Dusan Tadic as Nicolo Zaniolo’s replacement.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tadic represented the most viable alternative to Zaniolo and, given his recent falling out with Ajax, was the ideal target for a late January move.

Roma had already agreed to personal terms with the player. However, Nicolo Zaniolo’s decision to reject Bournemouth’s offer and stay in Rome despite handing a request to leave caused the deal for Tadic to collapse.
