Roma manager Jose Mourinho did not sound too discouraged despite his side dropped points in a crucial matchday with Lecce.
The Portuguese technician praised Lecce’s effort to hold the Giallorossi to a 1-1 draw and recognized his side’s performance on a difficult terrain.
“The pitch was awful, hard and without quality to play on. They were aggressive and compact and worked very hard to keep us level,” Mourinho told Roma TV after the match.
“The team did everything they could to win, we didn’t play phenomenally well but we played a good game. I haven’t seen anyone put in a bad performance tonight. That’s why there’s the frustration of having scored just one point, but the boys put in work.”
