Former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca – currently in charge of French side Lille – spoke about Jose Mourinho’s impact on the world of coaching and the subsequent generations of managers including Fonseca himself.
“Mourinho was a major source of inspiration,” Fonseca said in an interview with RMC Sport.
“Mourinho turned his back on the traditionalism that existed in Portuguese football at the time.”
“His emergence was a breath of fresh air for the sport. Above all, it was his leadership, the passionate way he led his teams that changed the game forever.”
