Minutes before kick-off to Roma-Salzburg at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Giallorossi defender Chris Smalling addressed his future at the club as the player is in talks to renew his contract.
“I am very confident,” he told Sky Sport before the match. “I am thinking of achieving the goals we set out to accomplish this year. I have an option for next season, but I hope to stay here even beyond next season.”
“We want to have a long journey in Europe this season as well. Our coach has won many trophies and we want to give our fans many European evenings.”
