Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy recently returned from injury to be at Mourinho’s disposal for the Europa League final.

El Shaarawy featured in Roma’s Media Day at Trigoria and shared his thoughts on the team’s preparations for Wednesday.

“I was able to overcome my recent injury,” El Shaarawy told Sky Sport. “I’m still not at my best but I’m fit enough.”

“This past year we developed a really strong sense of team unity. This unity made a difference last year and this year we reconfirmed it. There has been so much union of collective strength and that has made all the difference.”

“We have had a lot of injuries. So many players played out of position and it wasn’t easy. We have earned this final and now only the most important step is missing.”

“Mourinho? He’s a winner. He has a winning mentality and it is what he tries to transmit to us.”
