Former Roma midfielder Sérgio Oliveira has officially joined Galatasaray following his six months stint in the Italian capital.
The 30 year-old completed his move to the Turkish giants earlier today after the club agreed to a fee with now former club Porto.
Oliveira spent the second half of last season at Roma, joining on loan with an option to buy. Upon securing the Conference League title, the midfielder stated his desire to remain with the club permanently.
However, the Giallorossi were put off by Porto’s demands and ended their pursuit of Oliveira.
“I’d like to thank everyone who worked hard to make this transfer happen,” said the Portuguese international during his unveiling.
“This club has a huge number of supporters and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in the stadium. Gala is a club with a rich history and is well known throughout Europe.”
Adding, “My teammates and I will give everything for this club and I’m certain we’ll win silverware together.”
