Roma striker Tammy Abraham applauded his team’s resolve after progressing to the Conference League quarterfinals and knocking out Vitesse.
The Englishman bagged a 90th minute goal to earn the Giallorossi a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Dutch side—marking his 21st goal of the season.
“First off, I have to applaud my teammates because we fought really hard,” he told Sky Sport.
“That equaliser was very important. We know it wasn’t our best performance but ultimately we’re moving on.”
“My only objective is to score goals and help the team succeed. There’s nothing better than seeing the supporters celebrate.”
The former Chelsea man also weighed in on who he would prefer to see in the next round of the competition.
“It doesn’t matter, we’ll have to be ready. Why not a Premier League team? Obviously the boys and I will watch the draw then we’ll see what happens.”
