The Chairman of AC Milan, American businessman Gerry Cardinale, spoke in support of Roma President Dan Friedkin.
Cardinale – much like Friedkin – is involved in talks for a new stadium for his club.
In an interview with Fortune.com, Cardinale discussed the difficulties in getting the project off the ground with respect to Italian authorities and shared a message of support for Friedkin and his plans to build Roma a brand new stadium.
“I hope Dan Friedkin can build a stadium for his team. I will certainly do everything I can to support him, because Italy needs more infrastructure for live entertainment.”
“If I had the choice, I would help all the other Serie A owners to build a stadium, because it is good for the ecosystem of Italian football.”
“These concepts are more familiar to American investors and I think that’s what attracted them to Series A. They realized the legacy and history of some of these poorly managed brands. They realized the potential of having a great investment in their hands.”
