After Atalanta deal collapsed, Karsdorp nearing Genoa switch

Roma right back Rick Karsdorp is close to joining fellow Italian side Genoa.

Sky Sport has reported that the Dutchman is close to joining the Ligurian outfit after his proposed transfer to Atalanta collapsed due to commissions related to the deal.

Newly appointed Genoa sporting director Daniele Faggiano is an admirer of the former Feyenoord defender and is very close to closing the operation for him on loan with an obligation to buy for €7 million, once the player reaches a certain number of appearances.

The Giallorossi are keen to sell Karsdorp, who has struggled mightily with injuries ever since moving to the Italian capital from Feyenoord in the summer of 2017 for a figure of €14 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
