Following his side’s victory over RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso commented on what the squad will have to do in their upcoming Europa League semi-finals showdown against Roma.
The Bundesliga side face-off against the Giallorossi in the first leg on May 11th before the return leg in Germany one week later on the 18th.
“The team has a lot of quality but our mindset is more important,” Alonso told the club’s official media channel.
“We’ll have to play with perseverance and energy to win the Europa League. The squad’s mentality is good, we play compactly and stay concentrated until the final whistle.”
The win over RB Leipzig extended Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run to thirteen games in a row across all competitions.
